ALTITUDE WARNING

Taos is nearly 7000 ft above sea level. If you aren’t acclimated to high altitude climates, please plan to drink A LOT of water and limit your activity for the first day or two. Some people do cardio-vascular training before entering high altitude environments. There is also medication available for altitude sickness called acetazolamide. Physicians typically prescribe 125 mg twice a day, starting 24 hrs before ascent and continuing for 2-3 days after peak arrival, or upon descent.
